Abstract

Aqueous leaf extract of Annona senegalensis was screened for phytochemical and elemental components using standard methods. LD50 was evaluated using the arithemetic method. The phytochemical screening revealed the presence of carbohydrates, cardiac glycosides, terpenoids and flavonoids. The elemental analysis revealed the presence of iron (Fe), copper (Cu), magnesium (Mg), lead (Pb), chromium (Cr), cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), zinc (Zn) and manganese (Mn) in parts per million concentrations and their values are 7.202, 0.893, 6.637, 0.014, 0.070, 0.057, 0.604, 1.732 and 2.362, respectively. ........................................
